Craziness!

I am sure slacking on my blog. Things have been pretty crazy with Adam working all day during the week and then taking care of our monster. We ended up getting on WIC though!! Since breastfeeding isn't going the way I want, it's good to have all that formula on hand. I mind you, I am STILL toughing out nursing though! I haven't quite given up yet. My goal was a month and it has been 5 weeks so far!! By the way, I still can't believe Liam is 5 weeks old today, how insane. Time seriously needs to slow down!! Although at our WIC appt, we found out that Liam is now 10lbs, 7oz! He is sure growing!

On another note: I finally made birth announcements today for the family and friends who want them. I had a thing on shutterfly for $20 off so that was nice! I found a free shipping code too so instead of paying $36, we paid $12, which isn't bad at all.

Four Weeks Postpartum

I'm slowly getting back to my old self! Excuse the no make up and wet hair...I didn't even notice I got a little smaller these past two weeks. I also can't believe it's been a whole month since we brought our baby boy home. I'm loving every minute of it!

Don't Tell Me How To Raise My Son!

I know I am a new mother and all, but I hate that people are telling me what is right or wrong about what my husband and I are doing with our son. Let me explain. Yesterday, my husband and I went downtown to get outside some. We walked a little bit, but I think Liam was just too hot because all he wanted to do was eat. So we decided to sit in the shade for a few, before heading back to the car. Well, we took a few pictures then, including this one:

[[picture is now deleted thanks to stupid people]]

I posted it on facebook, along with some other photos. One of my 'friends' on there posted a comment saying how I shouldn't post this picture and how it was inappropriate that my husband was holding our four week old by his ankles. Ok, first off - from day one, our son has been super strong and holding his head up like a champ. Secondly, it's not like we are flinging him around and being abusive. Lastly, he literally held Liam up for two seconds, just to get the picture. Whether or not you think this is right or wrong, don't tell me! I got mad and took it off and then she messaged me saying "glad to see that you took the picture of your husband holding your four week old by the ankles down. Even at four months I wouldn't do that. Picture pose or not still not appropriate for a four week old. Keep it in the family." WHAT THE HELL! Keep it in the family? I can post what I want!

I know that people have their own opinions but is that really THAT bad? I know he is only a month old, but come on! He wasn't even crying during it. It's not like we dropped him or anything. Am I overreacting or is she right? Give me the truth- what do you think?

Now on to 'happier' photos according to what she thinks.

Friday Fill In

1. Do you eat raw cookie dough?
YES I loveee chocolate chip cookie dough, yum! I haven't had any lately though. Maybe that is a hint to go make some!!

2. When you get online for the first time of the day… what site do you immediately head to?
I usually go to facebook first, followed by a forum site I am on, gmail, blogger then twitter. Usually about that order everyday! Yeah, I have no life ha.

3. What was your favorite pet as a child and why?
My orange tabby - Mitten. I got him when I was about 5 or 6 and he was this tiny little fur ball! He was just my first cat and he was always there with me; slept with me and wouldn't leave my side. He was like a little furry friend!

4. If you had a snail that could magically grant wishes, what would you name it?
Gary ;) haha

5.  How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?
Too many for me to try! I usually just suck on it until I get the tootsie roll!

This melts my heart. I love my little Mr. to pieces!

Wee-Bit

{one} what is your dream job?
Professional photography!

{two} how many best friends do you have?
I wouldn't say I have any "best friends" since I have had issues with friends lately.

{three} what’s the longest road trip you’ve ever taken?
By myself - I drove THREE hours to Bellingham to see this guy lol (way before my husband came along)

{four} if you had to do one single thing every day for the next year, what would it be?
Get a little alone time, for an hour! Sometimes it's nice to just be alone and watch tv or what have you.

{five} what’s one story your family always tells about you?
My dad ALWAYS tells everyone about how I was born prematurely and only weighed 3lbs.

{six} how did your parents pick your name?
I think I was named after a family member who was 'Helen' but I got Heleen (say it like 'Helene').

{seven} what’s the one thing that scares you more than anything?
Spending my life alone. If I lost my husband or now, even my son... I would forever sulk inside the house. :(

{eight} are you a good cook?
I wouldn't say I'm that great but I have definitely gotten pretty good at some things. I usually do the cooking and Adam doesn't complain so who knows ha.

{nine} where do you see yourself in 20 years?
Happily still married with a second child (maybe a third, but definitely a second) who would probably be almost out of the house by then...AND in our own home; not an apartment, but a HOUSE. Twenty years is a long time!

{ten} what’s your best childhood memory?
Spending all this time with friends whom I have now grown apart from; guess graduating from high school, getting married and having children does that to people.

Hectic Times

Sorry followers for I have been MIA a bit. My husband finally went back to work as normal so I have been trying to get used to having Liam 24/7 pretty much. Especially since he works 12 hour days (good old Army for ya). It hasn't been too bad at all, although today Liam has been especially fussy! No matter what I do, he cries. He hasn't gotten on my nerves though, luckily. I just wish I could calm him down. :( Aside from that, I haven't been doing much. Although yesterday I finally got together with two of my friends who each have two little ones. I was happy to get out of the house a bit and let them see Liam, since I haven't seen them since I was still pregnant. It was nice to have some 'girl' time as well since I have been around just Liam and Adam lately. I can't wait until Liam is a little older so we can have play dates. Right now it's more of just getting the mommies together haha.

Thought I would share some random shots of Liam from yesterday! Can't believe he's THREE weeks old!

ahahaha his curly hair!
Holding his head up like a champ!

Looks so much like Adam here

Wee Bit Wednesday Is Back!

{one} what’s the #1 most played song on your iPod (or whatever you use)?
'How To Love' by Lil Wayne HA.

{two} what’s your favorite type of exercise?
Weight lifting! I was in body conditioning for two years in high school. I miss it.

{three} what’s your least favorite mode of transportation?
Bus; thus why I drive my car everywhere.

{four} if you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what would it be?
Being 21 isn't bad. I am out of the partying stage since I did that when I was younger (not gonna lie)...but so far, this age is good.

{five} when you have 30 minutes of free time, what do you use it to do?
I'm usually online or I catch up on my shows. I don't get as much alone time with Liam here now.

{six} what do you miss the most about being a kid?
Not having to care about anything. The most I had to care about was school. Now I have bills, chores, Liam, my marriage; so much is going on.

{seven} when was the last time you were nervous?
Probably when I found out I was in labor!

{eight} what was the first thing you bought with your own money when you were young?
Candy I am sure lol.

{nine} what is your favorite month of the year?
December and July. I am mixed. December because of my birthday and Christmas. Plus I love snow (just not when I have to drive in it or if it snows a LOT)... Then there is July; I loveee fireworks and summer. Plus it's not the hottest month (August is) and July 4th is when I met my husband (well, didn't know at the time ha).

{ten} what are 3 songs from the soundtrack of your life?
That is a good question and I honestly can't answer that at the moment.

Two Weeks Postpartum

Time sure does fly by!!
I can't believe my son is two weeks already; TWO WEEKS!! How on Earth did he get so big already?! I wish time would slow down just a little. I can't believe how much I love this little guy.  He has another appointment tuesday so we will see how big he is. Keep in mind, he was 9lbs, 2.2oz when he was born. Then he dropped down to 8lbs, 2oz at his first check up (but gained 4oz the next day once we supplemented formula). He has to be his birth weight at least, but probably closer to 10lbs already. None the less, I love all his chunky-ness.

As for me, I am slowly getting back to normal. I had my check up Friday and found out that I am already down 26lbs about. That makes me SO happy, you don't even know.  My stomach is a lot smaller too. I mean, it's all lumpy and feels weird but I am sure you mama's know what I mean. Hopefully it will go down more, but we will see. I've always had trouble losing weight. All I need is to lose about 20-25lbs more and I will be back at my pre-pregnancy weight! I'm hoping to lose even more than that though. We will see!!

In The Swing Of Things...

I know that recently having Liam has changed things a lot. However, I still want to get back into how things used to be. I love this little guy to death, but sometimes I like when he sleeps a lot lol. This morning, my husband got caught up on sleep and I took care of the little one (since I got enough sleep for once). After a while, I went into the living room. Guess what I did! I caught up on a couple shows and even cleaned the kitchen. I did the dishes and cleaned up the counter tops. It was nice to get back to my old self a little. I'm trying not to over-do it though since I still need to recover from my C-section. I went to my dr yesterday though and things look good (I shall update tomorrow since it will be two weeks postpartum).

Anyway, Liam is still sleeping. I woke up Adam about an hour ago and he took a shower and got ready. I actually cuddled with him for a few minutes. I forgot how much I missed that. We definitely need to do that more and just spend time together. We realized that we don't see each other as much anymore. By 'see,' I don't mean in the same room or whatever. What I mean is cuddling, hanging out, talking, one on one time. We love Liam though and I know that after a while he will sleep more and more without waking up as much. I know that he will be on a better 'schedule' soon and then we can get our 'us' time back.

Let me tell you though - this little guy is worth the sleepless nights, the many diaper changes and feedings; all of the no time to ourselves and the random schedule shifts. He is worth it all!

Check Her Out!!

Since I have nothing to really write about today, I invite you all to check out my friend Amelie over at Football, Glitter and Cheese. She is a really good friend of mine and doesn't have any followers. Similar to her blog title, she is completely random and HILARIOUS. She seriously cracks me up. She writes about everything from football, to cheese, to online dating, to her perfumes (since she works in a perfume shop). None the less, check her out and spread the word around! She deserves you awesome readers and you will NOT be disappointed...so click below and get to reading!!

Happy Fourth!

First off, I can't believe it's even July already. Seriously, where did the year go? We had no plans for today. It consisted of hanging out with our little one. We did manage to run to the store though! It was our first real outing as a family ha. Liam did SO good too; he was asleep the whole entire time. I can't get over how cute he is. Being a mama is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me. I just love seeing my husband around him too, it lights up my world. Even though we have no plans today, all I need is these two guys. What else is better than lounging around at home with them and watching movies? Seems like a pretty good 4th of July to me.

our outing!

I hope everyone else is having a good day!
