Steals and Deals #12

I ended up getting a few good deals today when I went to Safeway, Target and Old Navy. At Safeway, I bought cereal, K cups for our Keurig, canned veggies and some frozen stuff. From Target, I snagged gum, room spray and stuff for Liam when he's a little older. Lastly, I scored big when I went to Old Navy. They had clearance half off the clearance price, so I got a lot of clothes for him when he's 12-24 months! I have their visa card so I racked up $30 credit there to use on the clothes!

Also - Stay tuned for a second post from when I go to Albertson's Sunday for their doublers. At least, I can hopefully score some deals. We shall see!

Worth $110, paid $2 (98% savings)
Simply put, I found 3 sets of pjs, 2 pairs of sweat pants, 2 shirts and a hoodie for Liam, eihter 12-18 months or 18-24 months. They were all on clearance, plus clearance was 1/2 off in addition. Every piece was $2-$5 and some change. What a steal! I wish I could have taken it all haha. I also had a $30 credit, so I only had to pay $2 myself.

Worth $116, paid $37 (68% savings)

I can't believe my son is 9 months old! Where has time gone? He is officially walking now. Well, he has been for a solid week or two.

Homemade Wings!

Randomly the other night, my husband decided he wanted wings for dinner. Well, I hate spending money on wings so we decided to make them ourselves. I was a little skeptical since I have never made them before. Well, they are the easiest things ever! They are also 100 x's better than if you got them through, say Pizza Hut. I went to Safeway and found a big 5lb thing of them for about $5 (on sale for $0.99 per lb).

Ingredients:

Mix the flour and spices together in a bowl, then coat the chicken. Place it in a pan and fry until golden brown. Once they are done, empty the red hot wing sauce into a bowl and coat the chicken. Keep warm in foil and serve!

Let Spring Cleaning Commence!

In the past, I have never really spring cleaned. I didn't really have anything to spring clean per say. Well my couponing has already ruined that, to where I NEED more organization. Especially since we live in an apartment. Whenever we look for a house, I am making sure there is a lot of cupboard space and what not. I will make lots of room for everything. I make due though. It never really hit that we had a lot of snacks piled up, until I decided to tidy up the pantry today.

Before - all of the boxes things were stuffed into

Thanks to the dollar tree, I have now fixed the problem of all the boxes in our cupboard. Well, all of the boxes associated with granola bars and fruit snacks. I should have gotten an extra container or two, but it has already made a difference. Here is what they will look like now! Definitely an improvement.

After - Cheap tupperwear for a quick fix

I think I will tackle our closet one of these days. I tend to hold onto clothes I will no longer wear, but think I will some day. I just need a whole new wardrobe. I have always told myself that will never happen until I lose weight though. Motivation!!

Couponing Rule of Thumb

I thought I would let you all in on a little secret. If you aren't planning a big couponing trip and just need regular old groceries, take your coupons with you! Always, always, always check the store ads before you go shopping and find any coupons to match up with anything you're shopping for. If you don't, you could miss out on huge savings. Always keep an eye out for peelies which are found on items within the store. Below shows the savings that I made while at Safway and Albertson's, just by looking through the ads and finding coupons to match. This shows just how important it can be to bring coupons with you. Saving happens any day, not just those trips you plan!

Have You Heard of Sneakpeeq?

If you have not heard of SneakPeeq, you should definitely check it out! They have some fantastic deals! There are only 5 days left I think, but when you join (for FREE), you get these fantastic looking pearl earrings for FREE!
I also ended up getting a $10 credit when I joined. The more you look, peeq, buy and invite, the more 'badges' you earn for stuff from money credited towards purchases, to percentage off things. In fact, I just bought a $200 straightener for $17 and free shipping! I can't wait to get it!

I highly recommend this website. I love it so far..and I don't review or suggest places too often! Just go take a peeq. It's free to join. They have food, beauty products, hair products, jewelry, all kinds of things. The best part is deals change every day! It's kind of like a ton of 'daily' deals every day all day haha.

Big Changes Coming..

We have been waiting to hear some pretty big news. My husband will no longer be in the Army here real soon. This is a good thing, but I know it will take time to get used to. I always told myself I never wanted to be with someone in the Army. Now that we have been together almost 4 years now and married for almost 3 years, not having that Army life will be weird. I am not going to lie about that. There are a lot of good to come from it though. No more missing any holidays, not being able to plan things, not missing anything about Liam's life, no crazy hours where he is hardly home or not home at all and best of all, NO MORE DEPLOYMENTS. He was supposed to leave soon for 9 months so this hit just in time. We have already been through one deployment almost 2 years ago. I'm glad we never have to do that again. However, I will miss how it felt when I saw him for the first time at the end of it.

I'm so glad Liam will have his father. I'm glad I will have a normal life with my husband. Something we haven't really had yet. We will get to go do more things, plan more events, be a family. I am definitely nervous, don't get me wrong. This will be good for us though, as long as everything goes to plan. It should though and it better because I'm a stresser lol. I'm excited to see how this change will effect us and what will happen in the future.

Steals and Deals: Round 2

I had to run to Target this morning, so I decided to give Albertsons another go. They were stocked again!! I was so glad because all the granola bars were wiped Sunday. Although I did run out of coupons and doublers, boo...but I still got a good deal! My store here in Tumwater had issues and the $2 and $5 catalina's didn't print. I love that store because they are so nice. They fixed it for me and gave me the right money. Everything is from Albertsons, except the Mederma Scar Creme. That is from Target!

Word to the wise- I had a heck of a time with the catalinas at Albertsons! They wouldn't print at one store so they had to go through some hoops. One transaction they got them to print manually and then the second they had to give me cash. For the third, I went to another Albertsons to see if they would work and they printed just fine. If you hear about a good deal and it doesn't work at your store, don't be afraid to ask! I love the Albertsons closest to me (Tumwater) because they are super nice and understanding. If they were a little cheaper without sales, I'd shop there all the time!

Steals and Deals #11

Once again, Albertsons had their TTV coupons (which started yesterday). However, I did get a couple things (Ken's salad dressing and pudding) at Safeway. I was pretty excited because there were a lot of good deals. However, one deal I REALLY wanted, was gone. They had Nature Valley Protein bars on sale (which we eat granola bars for snacks and it would have been good for my workouts). Plus they had catalinas printing out for $5 and $2 off next purchases that I could have used. Well, when I got there the shelves were wiped clean (figures). This deal was going on before TTV days so I think it was wiped way before yesterday. No big deal, we have plenty. I got some balance bars to help me instead which was ok. Plus I just got other great deals so I'm not too upset. Definitely would have been nice though. Anyway, let me break it down for you!

It's Ok Thursdays

I'm linking up with the lovely Ashley from Celebrating Life as an Army Wife.

It's Ok....

...to be a nerd and look at couponing stuff because you're planning a great trip this weekend.

...to be INSANE and try out the Insanity workout dvd set.

...to be insanely SORE all over from said workout.

...to want a break from your child, just because you never get one.

...to take back said break and enjoy time with him while you can.

...to be lazy all day and watch cheesy tv shows and/or movies because your husband isn't home.

...to not keep up with your blog every once in a while, but desperately want to.

...to want more followers and other blogs to follow in return.

...to enjoy the sunshine, even if it's still cold out.

...to not want to cook dinner because your husband isn't home.

...to relax and take a deep breath...it's ok!

Insanity..Am I Crazy?

So I am crazy and started the Insanity workout dvd. Let me tell you; this is THE craziest workout EVER. I did just the fitness test yesterday and I am so sore it's ridiculous. Shaun T is definitely a crazy instructer and definitely pushes you. I did the real workout today and felt like I was going to pass out haha. Ok so that is a bit far, but this stuff is no joke. No wonder they call it insanity. Just check out the website, wowee haha. I am going to try my hardest to stick it out for 60 days. I need to lose weight, I need to feel better about myself. Plus Liam is getting more active so I need to keep up with him. **Fingers crossed**

Drinks All Around

Sorry I have been MIA the past few days. I haven't felt the need that I had anything to write about. I hate those days. :( Anyway, I ended up going out last night to this small club downtown called the 1230 Room. I ended up having drinks bought for me from my friend, I loved it haha. She's amazing. It was definitely nice to go out and have some fun. I needed that for sure. I'm just glad that my husband was so supportive. In fact he made me go out haha, he wouldn't leave me alone. It was amazing to wake up to Liam waking me up and being a crazy boy. I love seeing his face in the morning.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend.
