A Little Wee Bit

{one} have you ever been stuck in an elevator?
OMG YES lol. When I was really little, we were in a hospital in Seattle and I ran into one and pushed a button...ended up on the floor below and my dad says I was screaming the whole time. I do not like elevators to this day if I am by myself, but I still use them sometimes, especially now that I am pregnant if there are no escalators.

{two} have you ever ridden on an elephant?
I think I did when I was REALLY little at a circus that was in town but I don't really remember.

{three} have you ever met a well known celebrity?
Does Kasey Kahne count? lol It was MANY many years ago, but he was at the dirt track in my old down where my dad lives.

{four} do you have any food allergies?
Nope - luckily. :)

{five} do you know how to sew?
Kind of, I mean I am not bad and if I need to fix pants or a hole, it works... ha but I could definitely be better.

{six} did you get an allowance when you were young?
No. :( Well, ONLY when we got grades back from school I would get $5 for every 'A' I had haha.

{seven} how often do you fill up your gas tank?
Unless I drive a lot, maybe once every two weeks. Wish it was less haha.

{eight} have you ever been stung by a jelly fish?
No way, but my dad has.

{nine} have you ever been robbed?
Nothing other than pencils or something haha.

{ten} what is the worst haircut you’ve ever had?
When I was in middle school, I used to get it chopped shoulder length and it wouldn't look good at all. It might have looked better if it had shape or layers in it...but because of that I will never cut my hair at or above shoulder ever again. Maybe one day I will try again but right now...no way!

Nursery About Finished!

I finally got things put away and finished for Liam's room! I have some things to go on the walls but other than that it's pretty much finished! Thought I would share real fast, even though I don't normally post twice in one day.

Baby Shower!

Ok! I have just enough time before my computer dies. Anyway - I finally got pictures uploaded!!

The baby shower went great! We went to the lounge to start decorating around noon. Guests started arriving around 12:45pm-ish. We mostly just mingled and ate lots of yummy food. Then we played a couple games and opened presents and had cake! It ended right around 3 and we got done cleaning up around 4pm. Although we were slow...which included letting the balloons go in the air lol. We were quite entertained! I was bummed though because a lot of people made it (maybe 18-20 somewhere around there) but I had so many people who said they were coming a few days prior and just never showed. I HATE when people do that. They could have at least said they couldn't make it, not like I would be hurt. Life happens. Some did, but that's ok! Anyway - Aside from that it was great! The cake was amazing that my friend made and the games were entertaining...especially "cant say baby." I had my brother on my dad's side come down from their place that's about 3 hours away. I also had one of the brothers on my moms side and his wife come down from their place that's about an hour or hour 1/2 away. It was nice that so many people came from all over. I love it!! I got lots of great stuff but not as much as I thought haha.

I went to Target yesterday to use the gift card my sister got me and bought some stuff, including his crib set! Well and I got some other stuff. Now we are waiting for next month because the MIL is hosting a baby shower at their place so that will be nice. We haven't seen his family in a little while.

All in all - I'm glad I have such wonderful friends and family. They made my baby shower a lot of fun and I even saw some who I haven't seen since high school graduation almost 3 years ago - how insane!!

I hope you all had a great weekend! HERE are the pictures!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

April 20, 2011

Might Be MIA...

I have my baby shower Saturday so I have been trying to get things done with my hosts for that. I also am having issues with my laptop to where it wont charge. So until I get my dad's friend to try and fix it, I probably wont be on much. :( I just wanted to give a heads up! Hopefully he can fix it because I am going through withdrawals haha.

April 19, 2011

Maybe This Is Just Me...

I have been living with my husband, practically since we first got together. That was almost three years ago. Well, we have plenty of money. Not TONS, but we have a savings and live comfortably. Anyway, when we got pregnant, my dad bought my crib and changing table combo. That was his gift to us for my birthday and our christmas gift. Well, THEN he got our stroller and carseat travel set. That was far too much, I told him to stop spending money on our soon to be family! I know that you should take the help when offered and all, but I still get upset because we have savings for a reason and my dad doesn't need to buy everything! lol. Such as today!

The apartment policy is dumb and they will give warnings to tow cars. Well we haven't moved Adam's in a LONG time because the bad wind storm a while back made a tree fall and break the windshield (since my car is in our car port area)...PLUS he carpools with his friend since he never renewed his license (he's awesome like that lol). Anyway, we got a warning so I went to move it to a different parking spot and it wouldn't start. Turns out the battery is shot so my dad came up (lives 20-30 mins away) and we bought a new one. We had the money to get it, plenty in savings but noooo he bought the battery. It was like $92!! WTH dad!! lol. He did it so we can worry about paying to fix the windshield. That I will do soon, i've just been waiting for the weather to clear up.

Am I the only one who feels guilty about someone buying stuff for them? I don't mind some things, but hundreds of dollars that my dad has spent? How do you handle the situations? I guess I can just try and take it as is, I just feel bad haha.

What A Day...

Today was a good day! The sun was out and it was really nice. I decided to finish putting together Liam's dresser and the clean the apartment a bit. Well, I didn't get very far because my friend text me and wanted to go look at baby stuff. She's due in about a week! Anyway, I met her at her place on post and then she drove us around. We went to some consignment shops that have used baby clothes and such but didn't find anything amazing so we went to Olive Garden for a late lunch of soup, salad and breadsticks lol. Then we checked out Borders because the one up by her is closing (not the one by me) and I found a few books!! I was excited haha. I was bummed that they didn't have any children's books left, but I found a huge illustrated Civil War coffee table book for Adam (he REALLY wanted a coffee table book) that is originally $75!!! Well it was in the bargain section AND additionally 30-40% off so it turned out to be $6.98 or something like that. HOW INSANE lol. Then I found a couple books for me, that are all murder/mystery. They were all around $14, on sale for around $9 so I was happy. In the end I got ALL 4 for $35! After that, we went to Babies R Us. I wish I could buy like...everything haha. She got some cute sunglasses for her soon to be daughter. She also showed me this dinosaur bedding they got. It's new...they have one already online that is a dark maroon and looks more for older kids BUT this one is cute and baby-ish. I WANT IT SO BAD. Adam and I want him to like Dinosaurs haha. I wanted to keep the bedding kind of neutral but I saw that and I HAVE to have it. I just don't want to change the 'theme' last minute AND that set is like twice the price of the one we originally want since it's at BRU and the jungle one is from Target. Anyway, Adam said we should get it but I have decided that I will see what happens with the baby shower and if we don't have ALL jungle stuff I will totally get it... because it is 928734729 times better than the jungle one I wanted. I just don't know what to doooo lol. ANYWAY after that we came back and I hung out at her place for an hour since it was rush hour. When I came home I finished the dresser!! Now I can share pictures of the room! I can't wait until we get everything and the room is a little more decorated.

The books I scored!

Organizer and dresser (frame says
"A baby brings life new meaning")
Changing table (that I need to clear)
Glider and empty Crib with my Lion

Long Update on Early Anniversary Trip

Whew so I finally had time to upload pictures and everything - time for an update!! Sorry for it being so long.

We had a good time for our early anniversary! Our ACTUAL anniversary is tomorrow, but the husband is in field in Yakima until Thursday boo.

Thursday:
We got up at 6:30-7am and I made us waffles with eggs and toast. Then we got ready and headed up to Seattle. Our check-in wasn't until 3pm so we ran around downtown for a bit. The weather was kind of crappy and cold, but we still had a good time. We went in the Columbia store and Adam got some new shoes. Plus we got 10% off for joining their mailing list. They were spendy, but $80 wasn't bad! He REALLY wanted new ones and he wouldn't stop talking about them. He even put them on as soon as we got them lol. Then we went to some other stores and got lunch in one of the malls near by - clam chowder in a bread bowl! Funny part - when we were walking around (holding hands of course), some black guy said as we walked by "YEAH black and white power, that's what I'm talking about" hahaha it totally made my day. After that we checked into our hotel (luckily we got to early because we got there at 2pm). It was really nice! The Jacuzzi was amazing and helped my pregnant aches. Don't worry, we didn't have it too hot. Plus the KING size bed was so comfy. We really need a King instead of our Queen!! Maybe depending on how much money is left after Liam is here lol. We could always sell our Queen since it's only maybe a year old.

ANYWAY - we spent some time with each other, in the jacuzzi or laying in bed watching tv. We decided to venture out and I made Adam go to the Cheesecake Factory since he has never been. Best of all, we took the FREE shuttle from the hotel (especially since parking is VERY spendy). We spent like $60 there but it was worth it and soooo good. I had chicken alfredo with sundried tomatoes and he had fish tacos. Then we had cheesecake for dessert of course. I had Adam's Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Fudge Ripple or something (cheesecake with reeses, butterfinger, and caramel) and he had the Reeses Chocolate Cake Cheesecake (cheesecake AND chocolate cake layers with Reeses). We had to eat half later since we were so full AND we shared the rest of my chicken alfredo for dinner yesterday since there was so much. We had THE best waiter too. He was funny. Then we headed back to the hotel room and relaxed. It was very nice!!

Friday:
We woke up around 7am and had their AMAZING free breakfast. There were waffles that you could put fruit on, scrambled eggs, sausage (wish there was bacon), toast, bagels, muffins, cereal, oatmeal, coffee, juices - It was amazing and sooo good. I ate way too much but couldn't help it. Adam went down later around 9am and had more HA. After breakfast we watched tv for a bit and then checked out. We decided we didn't want to go home yet, so we went to the Pacific Science Center to see the Star Wars Exhibit (thanks to Adam) lol and all the others. We HAD to go to the butterfly house since I loved it last time. After walking around there for hours, I had to rest and eat so we we went to a burger place in a different building outside. It was a REALLY good burger and fries ha. Then we went back and finished Exhibits, followed by going to the top of the Space Needle (since Adam hasn't been since he was little). After that we went home and relaxed! I was so worn out, I never want to walk that much again. Luckily my amazing husband gave me a foot rub when we got home. I am way too pregnant for all of that.

All in all we had a blast. Next time we will probably try to either go somewhere else besides Seattle, or at least check out different areas. Maybe this summer when it's nice out. We will see.

Oh!! One more thing - I got a package from my sister today!! She lives in CO (where as I live in WA) and she spoiled Liam rotten! I am not opening the gifts until my shower next Saturday but I read the card and she also put in a $100 gift card for Target so I can get the crib set we want (which is $70 something). I can't believe she got everything!! Wish there was a better way to thank her!

A Wee Bit

I normally don't post more than once, but I almost forgot about Wee Bit Wednesdays! Feel free to click the button and join along!

{one} have you ever fainted?
No, but I have blacked out before - does that count? ha

{two} what is your favorite casino game?

Oh! I loveee slots haha. I'm not much into cards when money is involved because I suck.

{three} do you have a good sense of direction?

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. However, the husband does since he's in the Army ha. If I can't find our way around, he probably can.

{four} laptop or desktop?
Laptop! I love that it's smaller and if need be, I can lug it around.

{five} what is your go-to hair style when having a bad hair day?
I just throw it up in a pony and forget about it. It's mainly my bangs that do not cooperate more than anything though.

{six} do you read the newspaper on a daily basis?
HA no. I used to sometimes when my dad got the paper, but now that I live with my husband I don't. I should, because I never know what is going on. I will look online at the news though every once in a while.

{seven} do you have a favorite celebrity chef?
Guy Fieri and Buddy Valastro if he counts HA. Love them!

{eight} what tv show would you like to make a guest appearance on?
Any of the CSI's, duh! Although I just wouldn't want to be the one examining the body I am sure. That would be depressing ha...or Minute To Win It (even though I would probably fail ha).

{nine} do you have satellite radio in your car?
Yes! Adam got Sirius XM for me for my birthday/Christmas. I love it and use it all the time since I drive too much.

{ten} what was the last movie that made you cry?
That is a very good question, I rarely cry during movies.

Mini Rant and Anniversary

This weekend is our anniversary. Sunday to be exact! Well from the beginning, Adam wasn't supposed to have anymore field until May. That meant we could finally be together for our anniversary (he was deployed last year). WELL yesterday he told me they were leaving Monday, but we could still have our anniversary weekend. NOW he just told me they are leaving Saturday. I seriously almost started crying. I was so very upset. Good news is most people ONLY have Friday off but his CO is super nice and gave him Thursday AND Friday off because it's our anniversary this weekend... so I guess it's better that we can celebrate early than not at all. I'm still super bummed though. They always have to mess things up.

However we talked when he got home last night and now I feel a little better. He's right...at least we can still celebrate. I'm driving us up to Seattle (which is about an hour away) super early so we can run around and explore Seattle. We are going to stay there that night and leave Friday afternoon. We went up there for our "honeymoon" lol so it's nice to go back. Plus we LOVE it up there, yet don't go up as much as we would like. It's like a mini-vacation away from our city. We will probably get up there in the morning, look at some shops or go somewhere, then get clam chowder for lunch (since it's amazing there) because check in isn't until 3pm... THEN settle into our room, get dinner at the Cheesecake Factory because it is good and I haven't been there in ages. We might go explore some more after. The next day, we will eat their amazing breakfast at the hotel and check out at noon...and run around some more, then head home. Our hotel will have a jacuzzi and fireplace...AND a view of Lake Union. We are excited haha. Should be a nice romantic night, which we need. Plus I loveee hot tubs (don't worry, it wont be TOO hot ha)...AND I may need it after running my pregnant but around downtown. The hotel pool/hot tub downstairs is open 24 hours too so that will be nice if we want to check that out.

All in all, I'm feeling better about it now. At least we don't have to worry about a lot of weekend traffic/guests since we will be there during the week. Plus we need this to happen. It will be a nice get away before Liam gets here in just **shocker** TWO MONTHS-ish.

Are any of you doing anything exciting these next few days or during the weekend?

April 10, 2011

Get to Know Me!

I love when blogs I follow post great link parties from others!

1. do you watch/read the news?
I hardly ever watch the news. I used to when I lived with my dad but now, not so much. Occasionally I will look online at news websites, but it's rare as well ha. Guess that's why I never know when something is going on.

2. how would you describe your "look"?
I think my 'look' is random, yet comfortable. Usually just a pair of jeans and a tank or tshirt, nothing too amazing. I find myself quite boring and don't really have a big wardrobe...although I don't really need to impress anyone. I am not comfortable in my own skin, but I have my husband and friends. I don't need to dress up for anyone.

3. did you play sports in high school or college?
I was in band, so I never played sports. If I was in shape, I would play though I am sure. I loved watching football and basketball though.

4. would you rather give up lipstick/gloss or high heels?
I would give up high heels since well...I wear skate shoes or sneakers ;)

5. what's your favorite show to watch on tv?
I watch a little of everything but my faves are ALL of the CSI's, America's Best Dance Crew, and Law&Order:SVU.

6. would you rather bake or cook?
I would rather cook. I love baking, but I get irritated sometimes and eat too much HA. Although with cooking it's hard for me to cook too many things at once so I would never be a pro lol.

7. shorts or skirts?
I am a jeans type of girl, but I would have to say shorts. I have some bermudas I absolutely love!

8. what's your favorite scary movie?
I used to LOVE scary movies, but not so much anymore. I can't give you a favorite. I actually can't give a favorite movie in general haha...except for maybe any of the Fast and the Furious

I got a new pair of pants the other week AND found a shirt for my baby shower.

Feeling Crafty

My husband has field today, overnight BOOO. Well, they will probably get back around midnight and just stay on post...and get off at like 9am or something tomorrow and have a three day weekend with monday off so I guess I shouldn't complain haha. This can give me an excuse to do some stuff. I am in a very crafty mood for some reason and I have some running around I want to do today. Hopefully I don't get as tired. I went to target with a friend yesterday and was so worn out EVERYTHING hurt. :( BUT this is my plan... I found these online because I wanted to do something with fabric but since I have no sewing machine it has to be simple soo...HELLO fabric foam blocks!! I'm pretty excited because I can sew it by hand and JoAnns has some really cute fabric! Hopefully I can find something good!!

I have also been trying to figure out wall art and so I think I might go to the fedex office to the photo station and print these out in 8x10's to frame and hang on the wall. I'm not sure about the last one, but probably the first 3. I tried to find some NOT so baby-ish so I could use them long but these ARE cute. =]

I am out of other ideas for now, but that's my project today! Everything is now at walmart for the nursery EXCEPT the darn chair (tracking shows it in PA 3 days ago) so it should be here by saturday or monday I would think. It says arrival should be monday, but I am hoping earlier or at least that morning because Adam has that day off so my dad can come up with his truck. Then I'll have lots to do putting that dresser together during the week. I'm excitedddd haha.

Anyone else feeling crafty?

Think I'll Start Following Along...

Thanks to Angie over at Lariats and Lavender, I have decided to join in on Wee Bit Wednesdays from a blog she follows. Go ahead, link up.

{one} what is one food that, as an adult you love, but as a child you said you’d never touch?
Oh various veggies I am sure. I love them all now, practically...except a chosen few. This question should be reverse for me because as a child I LOVED olives, but now I can't stand them. Silly how we grow up and like or dislike things later in life.

{two} did you go to college? if yes, what was your major?
Yes! I went to a community college and actually just finished up my general AA this past quarter!! I'm so glad to be done. Well, for now at least. I may go back later and get my bachelor's in....something.

{three} what’s the most wild animal you’ve seen in real life (not counting the zoo)?
Deer I think have summed that up. My dad lives in the middle of no where so there are always deer around. WAIT scratch that. I remember...we saw coyotes once...or wolves... I think they were coyotes; I don't remember haha. It was YEARS ago. There are bears too that my dad has seen. Crazy!!

{four} have you ever been to a fortune teller?
Can't say that I have and I am not sure if I would ever want to. I like not knowing what the future holds...to an extent. Besides, I don't really believe in that anyway.

{five} can you juggle?
HA no way! I am a total failure.

{six} hardwood floors or carpet?
I loveeee hardwood. Maybe one day when we own a house we can have hardwood. I hate carpet and I hate vacuuming ha.

{seven} is it called “soda” or “pop”?
I have always said pop for as long as I can remember. Everyone always looks at me funny for it. Especially since my husband says soda ha.

{eight} what was your first car?
A bada** 2001 Pontiac Grand Am hahaha. Ok so it was actually a piece of crap. I miss it sometimes, but I am glad it's gone. It was great at first, but it slowly started falling apart on me. I will NEVER own a black two-door car ever again (even though they look awesome and sporty). I am now in love with my (practically) new 2008 Kia Spectra. :)

{nine} what is the most decadent dessert you’ve ever eaten?
That is a good question. Cheesecake I am sure, I can never get enough of it. Although my dad has made some pretty amazing desserts. I don't think I could choose!

{ten} how often do you rearrange your furniture?
When I lived with my dad, I would rearrange my room 98372983 times a year. Now that I am with my husband, I don't really feel the need to rearrange. I'm not sure if it is because there are only certain ways we can fit our stuff or what it is.

Made My Day

Just thought I would post this video of Mr. Liam kicking the remote this morning. It made me happy.

Anything make you happy today?

April 3, 2011

Quick Hello

Please excuse me if I am not on much for the next couple of days (as well as the last couple). I suddenly caught some type of bug. I'm not sure yet if it is just a normal cold or strep (since I have had that twice in the last couple years). I'm hoping just a cold but we will see. I hope you are all doing well! Good news is I got the rest of the big stuff for the nursery ordered! I can't wait to pick it up and get it together. Hopefully I'll feel better soon so I can get that stuff done! It should be here sometime by the 15th.

I shall leave you all with a picture! This is myself, as well as two very good friends. We were celebrating our friend's son turning one (his mother is the one in the middle). Lovely bunch of ladies.
please excuse my double chin and funny grin ;)

Twenty-Nine Weeks!!
