Goodbye 2011!

I can't believe this year is over. It was a whirlwind and frankly, it went a bit too fast. I still can't believe Liam is here and we have our own little family now. That has been the highlight of my year. I have met and lost so many friends this year as well. Quite a few have also moved away. I became closer with quite a few, which I don't know what I would do without them. Even those who don't live near me, those are some of my closest friends. I have managed to keep my blog going, with a few small breaks here and there. I am so glad I have all you followers, you're amazing. To think I started with zero ha.

Here are some of my favorite posts to highlight the year:
A Letter To My Husband - I was doing some sort of blog hop for that.
Seahawks Game Vs. The Saints - We ended up going to one the best games ever!
A Story On How We Met - For a Valentine's Day link up (was nice to think back).
Our Anniversary - It was early due to the Army taking my husband lol
Liam's Finished Nursery - Took forever, but looking at it just makes me happy.
Liam's Birth Story - Without a doubt the best part of this year!
The Start of Our Paleo Diet - It helped me get down to my pre-pregnancy weight.
First Halloween Here and Here - Some of my ultimate favorite pictures of Liam, ever.
Uproar Fest - Seeing some of my favorite rock bands was AMAZING.
First Christmas - I love having holiday's with my little family.

I had so many more I wanted to add, but I think that is good enough haha. I'm excited to see what happens in 2012! Oh and join in on the new year, new follower blog hop madness. Click below!!

Six Months!

Can you believe my baby boy is SIX MONTHS already? I sure can't! I was going to post sooner but I totally forgot. He actually turned six months the day after Christmas... half a year old! Wow! He is doing so much! He kind of crawls. I wouldn't call it crawling yet, but he can go forward if he really wants something. I call it the belly flop because he gets up and lurches forward (not like the past video here), but just forward into a belly flop. Maybe I can capture it one day ha. Anyway, he also does this bear crawl type thing. He doesn't really go forward, but he gets up on his feet with his butt high in the air (like we did back in I don't know, middle school or something). It cracks me up. He is talking more and I repeat dada to him but nothing yet. He just smiles at me like I'm retarded. He grabs everything and chews on everything. He has TWO teeth now. He got one on my birthday and one a couple days later. Apparently that's what he wanted for Christmas ha. He is eating solids twice a day, usually fruits for breakfast and veggies for dinner. I may switch it up later on but for now it works. He has had almost all fruits now. My friend's mom gave me mum-mums to try on him (the rice snack things that look like surfboards to me) and he LOVES them. He gobbled those up..so I am going to buy some today when I get some groceries. He also loves things that rattle. Before he didn't really care but he loves his rattle toys. He also likes Martin's ball that has a bell in it (our cat). Silly boy, maybe I can find a toy with a bell haha.

Stats: 17.5 lbs, 26.5 inches and his head is 43cm (about 83 percentile). He has a big head, but I love it.

He is just growing so fast, I wish it would slow down a little. Although I can't wait for him to be all cute and talk. So much to look forward to in 2012!

**Sadly no pictures to post yet but that just means I need to take more to mark him being 6 months. Although stay tuned for professional pictures in the next couple weeks.**

Christmas Photo Dump

Christmas was a whirlwind! My husband's family tradition is to open one gift on Christmas Eve, so we did that and enjoyed family time. Then we opened presents Christmas day, followed by dinner at the in-laws. For once, Adam had NO IDEA what I got him! I finally won at fooling him ha. I got him a Keurig with an accessory to hold all the K-cups. My dad got us two boxes of cups to start out with. Let me tell you, the hot chocolate is delish! I also registered it before I wrapped it, so we can go online and order two boxes and get two free from the Keurig site. We also go Liam a few toys. All in all, it was a good first Christmas as a little family. I can't wait for many more to come. P.S. I apologize for the photos all over. I will clean these up in a bit!

Grampa

After all the craziness, I was still going! Yesterday morning I scored some deals at Target! This was all worth about $56 and I paid around $26. I got a wrapping kit, two kits of chocolate chip pancake mix, two kits of red velvet cupcake mix, monkey bread mix (that comes with a pan), a set of nine hot chocolate mixes and a new cupcake pan (since ours is gross and old). I wanted a bunch more things, but figured that was good. Plus my dad got Liam the Lion King blu-ray movie! I really wanted it but we were going to wait until after the first of the year, but my dad likes to spoil him and bought it for us. It was only $20 instead of $30 AND it comes with both blu-ray and dvd. I hope everyone else had a fantastic Christmas!!

Birthday, Liam, and Not So Worldless Wednesday Madness!!

Where do I even begin? Yesterday was my 22nd birthday and I had a lot of fun. It wasn't anything crazy since I have Liam, but I had great company. I got a free Starbucks coffee on my way to Liam's WIC appointment. As I entered the gate on post, the gate guard told me Happy Birthday ha. Upon that appointment, I discovered that Liam had a tooth poke through; what a nice present ha. By the way, our monster is 17lbs and almost 26 inches long. He's getting so big! He has his 'real' 6 month appointment at his pediatrician's on the 28th. Anyway, after that I went to the mall to see a friend. I ended up meeting another to look around and grab lunch. I had free Ihop, thanks to a birthday thing. Then I ended up meeting the same friend who works in the mall, plus her coworker for dinner at El Sarape (a fantastic Mexican restaurant). Her coworker has THE cutest little boy (aside from Liam lol). She brought me a giant cookie cake, it was delish. I got taquitos and we sipped on margaritas. It was nice. My friend is amazing for buying my dinner for my birthday!

hahaha i look horrid.
Other things going on with Liam - He is almost crawling, it is so crazy!! Just watch this video:

He has his tooth as I mentioned, plus two more bumps on the bottom and two on top where they could come at any time. I am finally starting him on fruits, so he will get those in the morning and veggies at night. Liam is gibbering more and more each day. I can't wait until he starts talking ha. He loves Martin (our cat) to death. Not too much else going on with him. Teeth and crawling; that's what it's about right now.

Look to the left of my finger (click to make bigger)
These past few days have been insane. I have been going, going, going and I can't wait for this month to be over... or to at least slow down. Did I mention I didn't even feel like it's my birthday? I don't feel 22, I didn't feel like yesterday was anything special...it's kind of blah... but I love my friends and Liam made it better too.

Steals and Deal

What a great idea from Megan, from The Corral Connection.
Fee free to show us all your steals and deals!

All of this was worth about $50 and I paid $18. It might be my best yet. It's random stuff, but I was super excited for the baby food. Thank you Albertsons for your twice the value (ttv) coupons, which double any manufacture coupon up to a dollar. Also, they had a deal if you got two things of applesauce, you got a thing of juice free. Some good deals, even without doublers, just normal coupons...although all mine were with doublers ha. I did 3 different transactions.

Holiday Craziness

Things might be crazy for the next week because of Christmas. I haven't been on already because my husband has been working crazy hours and he has been home this weekend. I have also been getting Christmas presents ready and taking care of the boy, plus hanging out with friends a lot. I have just been going, going, going. My birthday is Tuesday, which I keep forgetting how close that is. I'm probably just going out to dinner and maybe having a drink. I'll have Liam with me, but a drink with dinner wont hurt. Liam also has an appointment that morning..Happy Birthday to me, right? lol. Then we have Christmas, which we will have a few gifts to exchange and then be heading down to the in-laws for dinner. Should be nice. I'm excited for family to get gifts this year. I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. I shall leave you with a picture of Liam I took, that will be on our Christmas cards this year.

Wordless-ish Wednesdays

I was trying to get my son to go to sleep a few minutes earlier than normal. Well, more like a half hour to an hour early because this mama was exhausted. Well he was rolling around in his crib and I managed to capture this. I have to say it is officially my favorite.picture.EVER.

I Feel So Helpless

Have you ever felt so bad, so upset, but you couldn't do anything? The feeling of helplessness?
My poor baby boy is sick and I feel so bad. I don't know what to do. He wont keep formula down, so I have been giving him Pedialyte and carrots (the current veggie he is on). He has luckily kept those down since 4pm, but I don't dare try formula. He was throwing that up yesterday and this morning. So far so good with the other stuff that. I wish I could just give him formula, I wish I could make things all better but I can't. He doesn't have a fever and he's still his happy self...just with less food and some diaper problems (if you know what I mean ha). If he wasn't better in the morning, I was going to call his Dr, but he has been doing well on the Pedialyte. I'm just glad he doesn't have a fever at least. I hate seeing him in pain. I hate this helplessness that I feel for him. Hopefully he will feel better in the morning.

Christmas, Steals and Photos

I have been pretty busy running around lately! Where to start? Well first off, I started making an ornament wreath! I finished that today, but it took 4 hours. I guess it wouldn't take as long if Liam wasn't here, but what can you do? It was fun and easy, but time consuming. I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I pretty much followed this blog here, except I used floral wire since I couldn't find a wire hanger at the dollar store, oops. Anyway, I now have it hanging up in our living room! I made the bow and everything! I'm quite proud of myself.

Besides that keeping me busy, I also visited a friend who is soon moving to Texas. That is one thing about the military, your friends move away. She has family up here though, so I'm sure I'll see her eventually. Anyway, before I visited her, I stopped by Target. One of the sites I follow for couponing is Coupon Connections. Well, they found a deal by someone where Target had big gift sets of Johnson's baby (or Aveeno) for $4.49 or something like that. Mind you, these are originally $9.99. This sale was unadvertised. Luckily I went there and found some (although I almost missed them - glad I went around a second time). I had coupons for $2/2 bottles, but it didn't exclude gift sets. Long story short, I got these bad boys for $5...for BOTH. Once again, these are originally $9.99 EACH. What a steal that was! I was happy too because Liam is almost out of bath wash!

After all that excitement, I got to my friend's house. It's unbelievable how fast children grow. Her little ones are getting so big. I love that her daughter is only a month 1/2 older than Liam. Shes super cute and so is her son. She did a mini photoshoot of Liam too! You can check out more of her work here. She does amazing work too! I love the pictures she took of Liam. Ignore my face in one or two of them though. ;) I had so much fun and Liam loved her family. I can't wait to get pictures of him (and all three of us) done next month.

Wordless-ish Wednesdays

I'm glad they are bonding now! At least until Liam starts crawling and chasing after him lol.

Steals and Deals: Round 2

I normally don't make two posts in one day, but I didn't want to add this to the last post and make it super long. Anyway, I would have posted this earlier, but I was out with a friend. I hit up Albertsons (mostly) for their twice the value coupons (doublers basically). I didn't find much I wanted that was a good enough price, so I just got some random things to add to the 'stock pile' as most would say. We don't really have one, but this works.

All of this stuff is worth about $55 and I paid $22 roughly. I don't think I did too bad. Gotta love lots of shampoo and conditioner. I found ALL of those hair products on clearance, it was awesome. I didn't have a coupon for the Rook Awakening with me (bummer), but even on clearance it was cheap! I only got it because I had two bottles of that kind of conditioner from a deal at Rite Aid months ago...so  I finally got shampoo to go with them! I also got the husband more shampoo and conditioner (he uses whatever is there). Who doesn't love cookie dough? I was going to take up Albertsons' buy 2 peanut butter ones for $4 and get hersey's kisses for free deal...BUT good old shelf clearers beat me to it. Kind of sad since those are my favorite. I ended up just getting these instead. We are good for a long time, since we don't eat too many sweets. Good thing these last for a good year or so, since we are still on this diet.

I hope some of you others found some good deals!

Steals and Deals

What a great idea from Megan, from The Corral Connection.
Fee free to show us all your steals and deals!

I have been out of the loop as far as couponing goes, lately. I think it is because of this diet we are on. All the good deals are on stuff we aren't eating at the moment. However, if I find something really good that will last for a year or so, or something that is not food, I usually get it. After all, we aren't on this diet forever, just a few months or so. Anyway, I found a great deal at Target! My husband is a HUGE coffee drinker and loves the Pikes Place blend and Christmas blend of Starbucks coffee, so I hit up this deal. I got Vanilla and Caramel for me ha.
Worth about $53 and I paid $30!
Let me break it down for you:

Starbucks Roast Ground Coffee, 12 oz $7.99, On Sale thru 12/10
Buy 3, Receive $5.00 Target Gift Card
Use $3.00/2 Starbucks Coffee from yesterday's Smartsource 12/04
And use $1.00/1 Starbucks Coffee from yesterday's Smartsource 12/04
Pay $19.97, Receive $5.00 Target Gift Card AND submit for a $5.00 Starbucks Gift Card
Final price: $3.32 each when you buy 3 (counting Starbucks gc and Target gc)

I did a second transaction doing the same thing, but used the $5 gc from before. So total, I technically got SIX bags of coffee, TWO Starbucks gift cards and TWO target gift cards. Oh and if you do more than one of these deals like me, just use the emailing submission for the Starbucks gc's and use a different address! Like for me, I used my name and our address, plus my gmail for the email address...and then for the second set I used my husband's name, dad's address and my second email (hotmail) for that one... You can only have one Starbucks card per household address.

For another deal I got my husband's Christmas present. Just in case he sees this, I will tell you all later about it. However, it's originally over $100. I got 10% off online (ended yesterday) and then found another promo code for $5 off $50 or more (or something similar)...PLUS free shipping on orders over $99 I believe... So it came to $111 (including tax). THEN I had a gift card for said place... so I only paid $56 out of pocket! SCORE. I hope my husband likes it. Although, i'll be using it too I'm sure. ;)
Have any of you found any good deals lately?

December, Already?

**Note: I was going to post this in the morning, but I got busy**

Can I just say that I can't believe it's December already! Seriously, where has the year gone? It is crazy to think, next month is the start of 2012! It seems like it was JUST 2010 ha.

There is quite a bit going on at the end of the month:

20th - My birthday and a WIC appointment for Liam
24th - Christmas Eve
25th - Christmas Day (also going to the in-laws for dinner I'm sure)
26th - Liam is 6 months old...HALF A YEAR old ... time needs to slow down
28th - Liam's 6 month check up

I think there may be more, but that is all I remember at the moment.

I believe we are putting our tree up tomorrow! I still need to find Liam a stocking! I'm excited though because there is just something about seeing a lit tree with stockings hung up; it makes me happy. Plus this will be our first Christmas as a little family, so that will be nice. I already got Liam two presents haha. I will wrap them and put them under the tree, since he can't really play with them until 6 months anyway. I got the Laugh and Learn Puppy, as well as the Laugh and Learn Smilin' Smart Phone. He seemed to like them when we were walking around Target yesterday, so I said 'why not' lol. I also have some clothes for him, but those are just put away in his room.

On another note, I started Liam on peas last night! He seemed to love them! I'm so glad! I can't wait until I can give him other foods. He's such a great baby.

That reminds me! Liam is really starting to crawl. Well, not crawl but TRY the effect of it. He pumps his legs and lurches forward if he has something against his feet haha.

Do you have any big plans this month?

November 30, 2011

Wordless-ish Wednesdays

Liam is getting so much older now and I have been waiting to buy his highchair. I went to www.diapers.com and ordered one finally! The chair was on sale for $46, instead of $54. If you spend $50 before tax on your first order, you get $10 off and free 1-2 day shipping. I added a sippy cup to that since we will need it eventually. The total was $50 for both, with free 1-2 shipping. Considering the cheapest in store is at Walmart for $52 (NOT including tax), I'd say it was a pretty good deal. It came yesterday afternoon! I would say Liam likes it!

Black Friday Madness

Did anyone brave the madness yesterday?

I went with a friend all over in the wee morning and then hit the mall later on in the afternoon. I only got a few things, but I was happy ha. I got a pack of 96 diapers, 435 wipes and a disney story book for Liam at Toys R Us for $22 total. Then I got Bambi and Rio at Target for $20. We were out for a total of SEVEN hours. It was nuts. Then I came home and took a nap. I was bored from Adam playing Madden all day, so I decided to hit the mall. Talk about packed! I went all over, but mainly baby stores (oops). Let me tell you how bad of an idea that was lol. First off I went to Old Navy. I found $15 jeans for me, $10 jeans for Liam and a $5 onesie. Then I went to The Children's Place and got him an $8 pj set and $5 Christmas onesie for pictures next month. I was quite happy for Liam's stuff ha. After all that was over, I decided to get Adam a game he REALLY wanted (Skyrim) but I didn't see any good deals by the time I got it so I paid in full. He's definitely getting moneys worth though. Since he has been playing that, I looked online and got $50 worth at Gymboree because I wanted a hoodie for Liam..and the free shipping. He is so spoiled lol, but I can't wait for it to get here! Oh and since I wasn't sure about Bath and Body works yesterday, I waited on their candles. However, we went to the mall today and I got 2 for $20 candles, plus another one 50% off (Creamy Pumpkin, Dark Chocolate Mint and Apple Crumble). We are burning the pumpkin one now. It smells so good! All in all, we spent a lot on Liam but it's worth it. Plus baby clothes are so cute! Here is a picture of Liam in his new jeans! LOVE IT. I hope everyone else scored some black friday deals!

Thanksgiving Week!

I am so excited that it's almost Thanksgiving! Don't get me wrong, I love seeing family and everything...but I LOVE food haha. Thanksgiving food is the day to cheat on any diet, to eat various foods and the GOOD goods. I love turkey, mashed potatoes and PIE. Come on, who doesn't love pie? Only crazy people ha. Sorry, but it has to be the truth. The diet my husband and I are on is going well. Thanksgiving is our cheat day for sure though. We are going down to his grandma's house to meet up with everyone and enjoy an early dinner. I'm sure i'll be picking my dad up to tag along on the way. Should be interesting with Liam there and also some other babies ha. This time last year, I was only a month or two pregnant. How crazy how fast time flies! I kind of wish we could do our own thanksgiving but I could never cook a big turkey in our apartment ha, let alone want to do all that work with a baby. Maybe one day we will. It will be nice to have Liam's first Thanksgiving with family though. Too bad he can't eat any of the yummy food! I am just glad Adam is here this year again. He wasn't the year before last. Nothing better than being there with family!

What are all of your plans for Thanksgiving? What foods do you enjoy most?

It's Ok

I'm linking up through the lovely Ashley over at Celebrating Life as an Army Wife.

It's OK...

...to feel different after having a child (I know for the time being i am definitely not the same).

...to want some alone time every once in a while (using mine to clean and blog up ha).

...to want to be better at blogging so that followers will want to come back.

...to be excited for dinner (because I was until I found out my husband wouldn't be home in time - butternut squash soup and chicken sandwiches; maybe tomorrow).

...to try new foods and experiment (I found out I HATE pork rinds, but I like the bbq ones).

...that cold weather is here (because it is an excuse to eat tons of soup, drink lots of hot chocolate and snuggle up with my favorite men).

Such Great News

40 weeks pregnant
6 weeks postpartum
My husband and I have been on this paleo diet, like a low-carb diet for about 2-3 weeks now. I agreed to go on it with him because I had yet to be down to my pre-pregnancy weight. This past Friday we went to visit my dad and the in-laws. Well, at my dad's, I used his scale and I couldn't believe my eyes. I am finally down to my pre-pregnancy weight!! I thought I would never make it that far! I gained 50lbs during my pregnancy so I was ecstatic. I don't know if it's this new diet we are on or if my body is just finally adjusting, but I am hoping it's the diet. It would be nice to know that this thing is working for us. I mean my husband says that his clothes feel looser so maybe it is this diet. I am glad to be down to this weight again, but don't get me wrong; I would LOVE to lose another 20-60lbs. I guess we will wait and find out. I don't mind the weight gain though because I am so glad Liam is here now. I can't imagine my life without him. How long did it take you to lose the weight (for those with children)? It may have taken me 4 1/2 months, but at least it happened. Although you should know that  I NEVER work out. I may walk around the mall with a friend or go on a walk seldom, but I haven't been working out. I usually just sit in the house and take care of Liam. I never make time. I am trying to more, but that isn't bad for the weight loss. I just want to feel semi-normal again. Although i'll tell you that I will NEVER fit into my old jeans if I can't loose these hips. They grew like no other. I just wanted to share how happy I am to finally reach this milestone after having Liam. Has anyone else reached any milestones lately?
Can't really tell - but me recently on Halloween

Becoming a Healthier Me

If you didn't read my post about the 'diet' my husband and I are starting, then I suppose you should know that it's a low-carb type diet called the 'paleo diet.'It's made after how cavemen were. It isn't too bad so far. We have been on it a week today! I can't believe it's only been a week. I'm not going to lie, I love my pasta, bread and potatoes. However, this hasn't been too bad! I am learning new things to cook and they are turning out well. I've made pork chops with apples (which were amazing), as well as lots of other stuff (chicken fajitas last night, various soups...). I am still working on more stuff for breakfast and lunch so we don't get bored. Like this morning I had a smoothie. I forgot how DELICIOUS those were. I think ever so often I'll make some and freeze them up so either Adam or I can grab one without taking out the blender. We are both doing well on it. We will probably have a cheat day next weekend after payday. We will probably find someone to watch Liam for a couple hours so that we can go have a pizza and watch a movie. Even though it's our cheat day, we both want thin crust so that it's not outrageous for a cheat day, if you know what I mean? I'm glad we still some what have a plan for this diet, even if we aren't following it 100% on our cheat days. It wont be forever anyway, just for a few months or something to help us out. Plus, after a while you can slowly introduce more carbs into your diet.

Aside from that, I am trying to exercise more. Lately I have failed because it's too cold or I just don't feel like it. However, yesterday the sun was out and it wasn't as cold as past days. I strapped Liam in his stroller and we walked down the road from our apartment. He loved it. He was looking around and playing with his toy. Although he fell asleep shortly after we started lol. It was nice to go out and walk a bit though. It felt amazing, although I am so out a shape. A little hill even killed me, but i'll work on it. I want to walk more often like that! This diet is making us feel better all in all. I'm less tired in the morning and I feel good. Adam says his clothes feel slightly looser and he's feeling great. I hope this diet helps us out because that would be great. I need a nice jump start since I can't seem to lose the rest of this pregnancy weight. I can't wait until I can weigh myself and finally see a difference.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Getting enough sleep.

I haven't been able to wake up rested the past couple of weeks, between taking the husband to work and Liam being fussier than normal (I think he has been sick). However, we didn't wake up for the day until 8:45am today! It felt amazing. I probably could have slept longer ha. I'm so glad Liam sleeps all night, except once or twice to eat and then he goes right back to sleep. He is such an easy baby most of the time and I don't want to get my hopes up, but he is! I love him so much and I am glad he pretty much goes to sleep with us. I have had it pretty easy with sleep. In the very beginning it still wasn't too bad, although I didn't get as much. I hate when people ask if he is letting me sleep or if I can take a nap with him. I would rather clean or have 'me' time while he naps. So I am so glad to have a restful nights sleep so I don't have to worry about that.

What are you loving today?

November 7, 2011

Dear Monday

I am doing this through my friend Ashely, over at Celebrating Life as an Army Wife.

Dear couponing, I love how good you did me today! I got $72 worth of groceries for $32 because of you. I hope you continue to help me out on the verge of saving our family some money. I may not do it as much lately, but I want to start up again!

I've Come To Realize...

How fast holidays are coming up and how busy we will be!

Ok so we wont be that busy, but lets face it - winter is such a crazy time. Who's idea was it to have all these holidays so close anyway? This month, I want to do black friday again. I ventured out last year and it wasn't bad. I just got some cheap blu ray dvds! I'm just glad we live in a smaller city than say, Seattle! So it isn't too terrible. I'm pretty excited for Thanksgiving though. I love, love, LOVE turkey and pumpkin pie. Hopefully we can have some left overs for turkey sandwiches. Those are my favorite. I'm sure we will be going down to the in-laws too. They always have an amazing dinner. Those are pretty much the two big things for November.

As far as December goes, we have my birthday on the 20th and then Christmas time after that! I'm not sure yet what we will be doing. Probably going to the in-laws again ha. I'm not even sure if we are exchanging gifts between the husband and I. Shows how much we have figured out. I know that we will be getting our awesome fake tree out of storage to put up. We also need to get a stocking for Liam because I say so. ;) I love Christmas time. All the smells and traditions. Although we don't really have any yet as a family but maybe we can start something. Liam will also be SIX months old the day after Christmas. How crazy is that? I swear we just found out we were pregnant and now he's here. It's always surreal.

I'm thinking that the first Saturday in January, we might be getting pictures done - professional pictures. The end of December is hard, so I figured that would be easier (if we can get that day booked). As long as it isn't snowing or anything, I think it will be fun. I have a gift card for this studio in Tacoma, which is about a half hour away from us. They do amazing work and I am pretty excited. We don't have any professional pictures yet so it would be nice to get some of Liam and some as a whole family. They have a special package where it features pictures of the baby's backside haha, I can't wait!

I can't believe a new year is almost here. It feels as if 2011 JUST started and here we are, almost to 2012. Time flies and sometimes I wish it would slow down a little bit.

One Of Those Days

Today has been one of those days where the day is taking FOREVER and I have been productive. I love it, yet hate it. I had to take the Mr to work because the guy he usually gets a ride from went in later than him. We needed more trail mix to snack on for our 'diet' so I stopped at Winco on the way home. It was very weird being there at about 6:30am, but Liam and I were rocking our pj's anyway. Then I came home and by that time, there was no way I was going back to sleep. Liam was still asleep in his car seat so I finally put his washed clothes away, started the dish washer, started my clothes in the washer and watched a little tv. He finally woke up around 8:30am and we've been hanging out since ha. I love this little guy and I wish I could be 'super mom' like this EVERY day, but let's face it - that wont happen. I love my sleep and lately haven't had much of it.

On another note - I wish I could update more but our monster is tired of being in his jumper. I hope everyone has a good Friday!

Halloween

I know, I know - I'm super late on this post, but I haven't been on my computer much. I have been exhausted and busy. Halloween was great though! My husband got off work early so I picked him up on our way to my friend's. She has a 2 1/2 year old boy so we all went trick or treating. We got a tiny bit of candy, but you can't expect much with a baby haha. It was still fun though. I'm glad I got to see my friend and her son. He was really cute too. The best part had to be when a car was driving too fast in the dark and her son goes "CAR, CAR, AAAAHHHH, CRASH, CRASH" hahaha. Greatest thing ever. It was a good night. Oh and before that, we took some pictures with Liam in his costume while we waited for them. I hope everyone had a great halloween. I can't complain with a little free candy haha.

On another note - I can't believe it's November already! That means my birthday and Christmas will be next month..AND Liam will be 6 months old next month. HALF a year old...how crazy is that? I'm starting to get a little sad. I love seeing him grow and learn, but at the same time he is my first child and I hate how fast time is going. I'm sure all you mothers can relate ha. As for this month, it is already freezing. I see a very bad winter in our near future. Although I'm pretty excited for Thanksgiving! If you read my last post on our changing lifestyle, you will now know that today we started that! However, Thanksgiving will definitely be our cheat day because I want my mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie!

Life Changes...

Randomly, my husband brought up something. He mentioned the Paleo diet. For those of you who don't know what that is, simply read about it here. Basically, it's a low-carb diet sort of. My husband and I have decided that we both want to lose some weight and become healthier. After having Liam, I gained a lot of weight in my hips and butt area lol. I basically went up two pant sizes; TWO. That makes me so depressed. I lost half of my pregnancy weight really quickly. It's just the rest I need to get rid of. Although I did gain 50lbs during my pregnancy. I want to be a healthier 'me' for Liam. When he gets old enough to run around, I want to be able to chase him. I want to be healthier for whenever we have another child (few years from now, don't worry ha). Granted, I know that I will never be super skinny. My body is definitely not built for that. I have a big structure, but even so I can still lose some weight and be healthier.

This diet doesn't even seem that bad. Sure, we have to cut out pasta and all that good stuff...BUT we can have all the meat in the world. We can have butter, fruits, and veggies. At first it sounded horrible and difficult, but the more I research, the easier it sounds. My husband knows a bunch of people who have had success from it. No harm in trying it for a while. Half of the stuff we normally eat, we can have with this diet anyway. Plus, there are certain steps for this diet. What I mean is that you don't have to be as strict as some people. You make it work with your body and lifestyle. For instance, some people will cut out coffee, but my husband will continue to drink his. It will mold and shape to our own lives. I hope it helps because it would be wonderful to be healthier. I'm sure we will start more walks and such too (permitting nice enough weather of course).

Here's to new changes in life!

Four months!

Liam is four months old today!! I can't believe it. He also had his check up as well. He's doing great. He is 15lbs 2oz and 24 1/3 inches long! He is in the high 60 for % on both weight and height. His head is in the 80s for % haha but he is doing good. The dr said he has strong lungs, a strong heart beat and strong stomach. He barely has a soft spot anymore as well and we got the ok to do solids. Baby cereal isn't a biggy for us since we don't need it to fill him or help him sleep. It will be nice to just start him on something different though! Oh and he got two shots and the oral today. He was champ on the first shot, but cried on the second. He stopped instantly once I picked him up though

Pumpkin Patch

Finally, I can let you all in on our family trip to the pumpkin patch. It was rainy and cloudy when we went of course, but luckily the rain held out until we were leaving (then it poured). We arrived and went straight for pictures. We just did a bunch of random pictures since it's Liam's first Halloween type activity. We then got a wheelbarrow (because the place is huge and it would be a nightmare carrying around a pumpkin). We ended up putting Liam in there for a ride and it seemed like he liked it. Everyone was staring and smiling, but hey! Whatever works. We ended up finding him a 44lb pumpkin! Let me tell you, it was big enough to fit Liam in for sure. After pictures and pumpkin searching, we took a break. He was hungry and we wanted baked goods. We got two caramel apples (which were made out of gala apples or something similar - instead of the tart granny smith apples). Let me tell you - those were THE BEST caramel apples I have ever had in my life. THE BEST. We also got a couple apple cider donuts. Those were pretty good too. It was totally worth it. Over all, we had so much fun. Liam was a great little boy and seemed to enjoy it as well. If only I knew what he was thinking haha.

Did anyone else visit any pumpkin patches? Or what else did you do this past weekend?

Wordless-ish Wednesdays

Wow it has certainly been a while. I'm sorry that I can't blog as much as I would like. It's hard to get any free time when the husband works all day. I'm really hoping to try and get back into blogging soon.

Anyway - I love cuddling with my monster on cold fall days like today.
How do you spend cold fall days?

Football Makes Me Happy

I love Sunday's. They consist of waking up with a happy baby and the Mr, followed by running to Walmart real fast to grab the paper (for coupons of course) AND watching football ALL.DAY.LONG. Mostly I watch my Seahawks play and boy did they pull through today. We played the Giants at their stadium. Jackson (our QB) was looking really good, until third quarter when he got hurt. Then Whitehurst came in. I was glad he got a little playing time and he luckily, wasn't doing too bad. It was such a good game. We were close the WHOLE game and then we just kicked ass at the end and pulled through. We won 36-25. I love days like this. Warm Pumpkin Pie Spice coffee, good football games and my two boys (three I suppose if you count our cat).

Do you love Sunday's? What are your 'traditions?'
